Meet our 2026 Grand Marshall, Michelle Threatt
Michelle Threatt is deeply honored to serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2026 Lake Wales MLK Parade, a role that embodies her unwavering commitment to community, justice, and faith.
Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of equality and love, Michelle stands as a beacon of hope and leadership in our community.
Michelle has successfully navigated both her professional and personal endeavors, exemplifying the essence of service and community engagement.
In her capacity as the owner and operator of Topsy's LLC, Michelle merges her entrepreneurial spirit with a heartfelt mission to contribute positively to the local economy.
Her authorship of “Life Moments” and “Rooted in Faith”, reflects her commitment to uplifting others through storytelling, sharing wisdom gleaned from her own life experiences and spiritual journey.
Michelle’s involvement with The Village, a community initiative rooted in the belief that "Love is what Love Does," aligns perfectly with Dr. King’s message of love and service. This initiative fosters unity and support within the community, reinforcing her dedication to making a meaningful impact.
With a background as a Detention Deputy in Communications at the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Michelle brings valuable experience in public safety and community relations. Her studies in Criminal Justice at South Florida State College further enrich her understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing her community.
A proud graduate of Lake Wales High School, Michelle has established deep roots in the area, where she continues to live and serve. Her steadfast faith and commitment to her community inspire those around her, positioning her as a remarkable role model for both current and future generations.
As she embraces the role of Grand Marshal, Michelle Threatt is poised to lead the Lake Wales MLK Parade, celebrating the enduring spirit of unity, love, and community service that embodies both Dr. King’s legacy and the vibrant heartbeat of Lake Wales.
